SELECTED FOR THE NATIONAL OPEN ART COMPETITION 2009

as seen in The Guardian and Observer Guide to Painting 2009 With a prize fund of 40,000, The National Open Art Competition, Chichester. Initiated in 1996, by the current Duke of Richmond, this year will be the 13th National Open Art Competition.The judging panel for 2009 is chaired by Gavin Turk, a key member of the Young British Artist Movement and one of our foremost contemporary artists. He will be assisted by Catherine Lampert, former Director of the Whitechapel Art Gallery in London, James Stewart, director of the Zimmer Stewart contemporary art gallery in Arundel, West Sussex and David Barrie, a director of RK Harrison Insurance Brokers Ltd. The exhibition will be held at the Minerva Theatre, Chichester Festival Theatre from 7 - 21 November followed by the winners being shown at Pallant House Gallery from 24 - 27 November. During the exhibition this year we are delighted to announce that Andrew Graham-Dixon will be speaking at the Minerva Theatre about his new book, Michelangelo and the Sistine Chapel on 16 November at 7.30pm, to book tickets call the Chichester Festival Theatre Box Office on 01243 781312.
